About Stone Axe Wagyu
Stone Axe Full Blood Wagyu represents a remarkable connection between Japanese Wagyu heritage and the Australian landscape. Its story began in the early 1990s, when the Walker family set out to establish a herd of Full Blood Japanese Black Wagyu in Australia. Today, those carefully preserved genetics form the foundation of a herd spanning the high country of New South Wales and Victoria.
Raised at high altitude with access to clean air, fresh water, natural shelter, and open pasture, Stone Axe cattle are bred and raised in an environment designed to support their natural development. The program places equal importance on preserving 100% Full Blood Japanese Black Wagyu genetics, responsible land management, and stringent animal welfare practices.
The result is Australian Wagyu with exceptional marbling, richness, and tenderness—an expression of generations of careful breeding and a deep respect for the land and the Wagyu tradition.
Frequently Asked Questions
We source beef only from the U.S. (exclusive of Japanese Kobe and Australian Wagyu). And we only source the best breeds from the mid and middle-northern states where the land and climate are ideal for growing and feeding what we feel is the very best beef you can buy.
