Is ribeye tough or tender?

Ribeye is known for its tenderness. Its abundant marbling and lack of tough connective tissue create a soft, buttery texture that makes it easy to cut and enjoy.

Why is ribeye so tasty?

Ribeye is packed with flavor thanks to its rich marbling, which melts during cooking and bastes the meat. This process enhances the steak’s bold, beefy taste and creates a juicy, satisfying bite.

What is another name for a ribeye steak?

Ribeye steak may be marketed as bone-in ribeye or boneless ribeye, but it’s also sometimes called a spencer cut, beauty steak, Scotch fillet, or a Delmonico steak.

Prime rib vs. ribeye: What is the difference between these two cuts?

Ribeye steaks are pieces of meat that are cut from the larger rib primal, then cooked and served. Prime rib is a larger, multi-person cut that’s roasted first, then cut after it’s cooked and rested and served similar to roast beef.

Porterhouse vs. ribeye: What is the difference between these two cuts?

Ribeye steaks are cuts of steak taken from the rib primal of a cow while the porterhouse is sort of a combination steak that includes portions of the tenderloin and top loin (aka pieces of filet mignon and strip steak separated by a hearty bone).

Best Beef EVER

"This was my first time ever ordering from Allen Brothers so I ordered a spread of filets and ribeyes. This is the best quality beef I have ever purchased anywhere including my local prime butcher shop. Turns out my favorite steakhouse on Planet Earth also uses Allen Brothers!"

Amazing Marbling

"This was my first time ordering from Allen Brothers for home cooking. I recall having Allen Brothers beef at local restaurants in my area in Miami. Initially, the price seemed high, but I said to myself that I would give it a shot. The package arrived a day early and was packed quite well. Vacuum packed wrapped in heat shielded paper inside a wax coated box within another heat shielded box packed with dry ice that had not melted or dissolved. Very impressive. When I unwrapped the steaks (I bought two packs of two), the marbling was off the chain! I had to remember if I ordered Prime or Wagyu! Once cooked, the meat was so tender and flavorful. There was very little fat and no gristle. I would most certainly order this beef again for a special occasion."

Gifts

"In 2025 I ordered 4 gift’s from Allen Brothers. I had trouble using website so I called. The ordering was perfect. 3 of 4 were delivered as requested, the 4th was late and spoiled, not AB fault, but AB replaced product within 2 days. Steaks were as expected, fantastic!"
