Tasty Chicken Enchiladas, a Mexican classic

Some of the world’s best chefs hail from South of the Border locales where zestiness and spice are the order of the day and an integral part of both the cuisine and culture. Indeed, so much of today’s best Latin cuisine draws upon a rich heritage that appreciated and honored foods at once organic and completely natural. In many ways, Allen Brothers has sought to pay homage to these same traditions with its new Latin Collection of preapred foods.

Hearty and zesty Chicken Posole soup

A case in point: our Chicken Posole Soup, a favorite potage from Mexico that is heady with shredded chicken and posole (whole kernels of corn hominy) and brightened with garlic and cumin spice. Centuries old masa is evident in our oversized Chicken Tamales with Green Mole Sauce that feature corn husks packed with chicken, fluffy corn masa and tasty Chihuahua cheese and covered with a luscious mole verde. Latin flavors also abound in the hearty Latin Shrimp Chowder that starts with fresh shrimp along with chorizo, potatoes, corn and tomatoes, all swimming in a tasty broth seasoned with garlic, cilantro, cumin and pepper.

Rounding out this flavorful collection of Latin inspired heat and serve foods are classic Beef and Chicken Enchiladas, a complete steak fajita kit that comes with USDA Prime skirt steak and all the trimmings (all you need to add are warm tortillas), and a sould warming Chicken Chili with Cornbread Topping that combines chicken with corn, red peppers, onions and jalapeno peppers and is crowned with a crusty topping of sweet cornbread made with buttermilk, butter and a touch of sugar.
